Obituary

Tribute

From Mary Kay Jordan (O'Reilly) on December 6th, 2014
Jeanne was a lovely girl who struggled with diabetes at an early age. I was with her and our dates at the graduation dance and was so sorry that she couldn't come with us out to a restaurant afterwards, because of her diabetes.
She was a brave girl and did what she could to have a happy life, despite health challenges.

Tribute

From Mary Kay Jordan (O'Reilly) on December 6th, 2014
Elizabeth was fun and a free spirit. I can picture her with her curly hair, tall and lanky in cut off jeans and often barefoot.  It was very sad to hear she died at a young age and with a young family.
Elizabeth could be sure to do something unexpected and she was a very good student, as well. I think she was the first person I knew to ski in cut off jeans on a warm spring day at Mt. Rainier .
Having older siblings, she knew all the latest folk music and introduced me to many favorites of the time. We went together to a Peter Paul and Mary concert at UPS and got autographs.
Her family was very welcoming to Elizabeth's friends and we enjoyed good times together.
After graduation, we lost touch and when I tried to reconnect, it was too late. I am sure she is missed by many friends.

Mike Giste

A quiet guy, standing on the periphery, observing life, as Loren
"Lumpy" Ezell said in his eulogy last Sat.  Mike
worked in audio-visual for several years at Foss High.
One of many kids, beloved by family & friends.  Loren
had helped move him back to the Tacoma area from
Westport, where he had retired. He'd been sick for a while
but he and Loren used this time wisely in broadening their
friendship these last several months.  Loren also shared that
"back in the day everyone had a nickname" & Mike's was
"Whiskey". Loren wasn't sure if it was because he liked
whiskey but suspected it was because it rhymed with Giste.
RIP Mike!!!!

Mary Jane McLean

- - March 3rd, 1966

Mary - skinny, freckle faced, would tell you that she wanted to be a police woman.
But she was the first one to attempt crazy things.  Once we were pulled over on 6th Ave. because someone, who shall remain nameless, stuck out her tongue at a police man.
She was a good and generous friend.  She loved driving her dad's Studebaker, she loved clothes, she loved heavy black mascara, she loved Taco Time and she loved trying things she new better than to do, and dragging some of us along with her.  But she was always laughing, and ALWAYS having a good time.  She graduated Stadium, went off to Olympic Jr. College and very soon after was killed in a car accident, which took the lives of 2 young men, as well as Sheila Gilmore, who died of internal injuries, 2 weeks later.  Well loved and well missed.

Tribute

From Lenora Roberts Andres on April 2nd, 2015
Doug died in a helicopter accident in Utah (Four Corners), after surviving the Vietnam war.
Many will remember Doug with his little VW, singing in the Madrigals at Stadium, then attending TCC when it first opened.  Doug had a wonderful voice and could play the piano as well as he could sing!  Some of my most fond memories were of sitting on the hoods of cars with Doug and his friends (Paul Henderson among them), singing while Paul was strumming the guitar.  Doug is survived by his mother Margie and his cousin Linda Scoggin Leach.

Anne Whitehead (Walker)

November 15th, 1947 - February 25th, 2013

Anne was a total joy to know.  She always, even when battling cancer for 7 yrs., had a smile ready for you, a smile accented by those deep dimples.  She was always ready to welcome you into her beautiful home, especially her last home in Teanaway Valley near CleEllum.  She enjoyed taveling with her husband of 29 years, Dick, and among her greatest joys were her family: daughter, Courtney and 3 grandchildren, Hayden, Makenna and Cameron.  Lance, Lenora, Sallaye and I were among the fortunate ones to visit her during her last year.  She definitely fought the good fight!
